N.O.R.E. Tearfully Remembers Big Pun Greatest Person I Ever Met In My Life

NORE remembers Big Pun in Hip-Hop X Siempre documentary.

Amazon recently released a new mini-doc Hip-Hop X Siempre which explores Latin Culture and Hip-Hop’s mixture, in which several rap veterans share stories of their genre history and current generation.

In the documentary, NORE also makes an appearance, in which he tearfully remembers late friend and collaborator Big Pun, who was the first solo Latin rapper ever to go platinum in the US, but tragically passed away at just the age of 28 in 2000.

“Pun was probably the greatest person I ever met in life,” he recalls. “Not greatest Puerto Rican — the greatest person I ever met in life.”

“I remember me and Pun both being platinum,” N.O.R.E. continued. “And if he found out I was in the Bronx, he would buy me an Avirex and a PlayStation. And I was like, ‘Yo bro, I’m getting’ the same amount of money as you,’ but he always wanted to give.”

NOreaga and Big Pun collaborated in 1998 on the song titled “Banned from T.V.” which was produced by Swizz Beatz. The song additionally featured Cam’ron, Nature, Jadakiss and Styles P. The song was the third single off Nore’s debut album “N.O.R.E.” in 1998.
