Lil Yachty Says His New Album Is Special & Separates Him From Artists That Copied His Swag

Lil Yachty calls out people for copying his style.

Lil Yachty made his return with his new album “Let’s Start Here“, for which he is receiving praise from fans and other artists. The rapper hosted a private listening party, where he reflected on the special album, which separated him from people who copied his style.

“This album is special. I think I created it because I really want to be taken seriously as an artist. Not just a SoundCloud rapper,” Yachty said. “If we just gonna be honest, I mean, I had ni**as that were copying the swag. I just felt like ‘Okay, cool, everyone can do this, that’s fine. But I’m gonna show y’all what y’all can’t do.’ You feel me? That’s what’s on this other side.”

“Let’s Start Here” is Yachty’s fifth studio album, and it is projected to move around 20k equivalent units in the first week.

On Friday (January 27), Lil Yachty released the music video for “sAY sOMETHING”, which is the first visual from his new album “Let’s Start Here”. The video, directed by Crowns & Owls, opens with Yachty on a date with a woman. At first, everything seems to be going well, but later on, he is seen holding a gun to his head while singing the song. He then pauses to express his love for the woman.
