Latto Says A Cardi B's Performance Inspired Her To Improve Her Own Live Shows

Latto praises Cardi B for the inspiration behind her live shows.

Last month, Latto finally dropped her new album “777“, a follow up to her 2020’s debut effort “Queen of da Souf.” The project featured contributions from Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, Kodak Black, Lil Durk, 21 Savage and more. The 23-year-old is on the promo run for her second studio album, as she sat down with Audacy for a new interview.

During the conversation, she revealed that a performance from Cardi B in 2018 inspired her to improve her own live shows. “I did Rolling Loud Miami in 2018ish…I was one of the openers,” she said. “It was 3 p.m. hot as hell and I waited all the way to the end for Cardi B to perform and I stuck around in the hot sun and I was like ‘nah, I gotta see Cardi perform,’ and I just seen her like put on a show. Like, it was actual entertainment. Dancers, choreography.”

She continued, “She really had me entertained to where I wasn’t caring about the heat or standing on my feet all day. I was entertained. So I took that and ran with it like ‘you know what? I wanna put on a show too.’”
