Jim Jones again gives props to Drake.
Jim Jones was a recent guest on the Rap Caviar Podcast, where the Dipset emcee doubled down on his statement that Drake is the greatest rapper of all time.
“I mean, why not?” Jones responds when asked to clarify his previous praise for Drake. “Drake is the only one that gets played anyplace on this Earth, and they’re gonna know it in English… If you’re not putting Drake in the Top 2 of all time, like, what are we gonna do? We gonna keep putting shade on his name? He has broke every single statistic, period. You heard?” “Okay, JAY-Z has done some sh*t for Hip Hop that will never, ever be duplicated. He is HOV,” he said.
The special guest Bootleg Kev cuts Jone to say if eveyone could agree to JAY-Z number 1 status on the GOAT list. “We can’t agree on that,” responds Jones. “I can’t agree to that… But let me talk some sh*t. Yes. He’s at the top of the barrel when it comes to what he’s done. He’s a billionaire. He’s done some sh*t for dope boys that people never even thought could be. He’s put himself in rooms that you never could imagine. Alright? And his business acumen is way bigger than his music acumen, at this point. I haven’t heard too much JAY-Z music in the last six to seven years that was really hittin’ out here in these streets.”
On March 10th, during an interview with Complex, Jim Jones expressed admiration for Drake, which garnered a lot of attention and speculation. “I would say he’s the greatest of all time,” Jimmy told the outlet. “I would just give that to him. And I mean, there’s a lot of people from the beginning and people that invented Hip Hop, I know. “But the greatest of all time, it’s a big statement, and the relevancy that he keeps showing year after year, hit after hit, record after record. Any song that he has put out has seemed to go multiple platinum. That’s never happened before in history.”
