Ice Spice Reveals A Funny Advice That Drake Gave Her

Drake gave Ice Spice a piece of advice about her appearance.

Ice Spice is one of the most trending names on social media, as the hip-hop star covers several magazines, and just collaborated with her idol Nicki Minaj for the “Princess Diana” remix video.

Spice recently connected with British Vogue, where she revealed advice that was given to her by Drake. “One thing he did say stuck with me, which is so funny and minuscule – he said that I shouldn’t wear sunglasses,” she said. “I thought that was so funny and different. He said it hides you too much and makes you seem a little bougie, and people want to see your face.”

She continued, “That was the career advice for when doing press or performing, but when it came to everything else, he pretty much said that I got it. He was just letting me know he really does see something in me. That was pretty much all the advice I needed.”

Elsewhere, she also gave advice to the women who look up to her. “Being yourself is really important. No matter what you’re doing, you should ask yourself, am I being my true self? That will help you solve everything.”

“Oh no! You know, it’s so funny. We actually met up when I had dropped the project, and he was in town for a show. I asked him if that was about me, and he said it wasn’t,” she revealed. “He was just laughing, but he did appreciate how I went about it, you know? He did tell me who it was about, and it wasn’t me.”

Drake’s longtime friend and collaborator Nicki Minaj also had an impact on Ice Spice’s career. “I was, like, nervous to get there,” said Spice. “Once I got there, I was like, ‘Okay, I’m chilling.’ But then I heard her, like, say something, and then I got nervous.”

“When she hugged me, I started crying… I cried, but I walked away. Like, I didn’t say anything to her. I just feel like, ‘Bro, like just the journey.’ You know, I love Nicki, and meeting her was great and everything, but for me, it also just mostly felt like, ‘This is a full circle moment.’”
