Hit-Boy Responds To 21 Savage's Statement 'Nas Is Not Relevant' That's Just Wack

Hit-Boy comments on 21 Savage’s recent statement on Nas’ relevancy.

21 Savage recently received criticism from hip-hop fans and artists after the UK-born rapper called Nas irrelevant. “I don’t feel like he’s relevant,” said 21, who recently dropped a new collab album ‘Her Loss‘ with Drake. “He’s not relevant, I just feel like he just has a loyal a*s fanbase & he still makes good music.”

Now Hit-Boy, who teamed up with Nas for their third “King’s Disease” album last week, made an appearance on Power 196 and responds to 21 Savage’s disrespectful comment about the “Illmatic” legend.

“Even take the 21 Savage thing, I feel like that’s a part of King’s Disease. How do you look at a Black Hip Hop artist, legendary guy, who just won his first Grammy a couple of years ago,” he said at the 16:30 minute mark. “[Nas] just put out four critically-acclaimed albums and we don’t see these young rock guys like, ‘Aerosmith, them ni**as ain’t relevant.’ We wouldn’t see that but we have to see that with Hip Hop and that’s just wack. That’s what’s keeping us there. That’s King’s Disease.”

Numerous rappers have defended Nas in recent days, including his brother Jungle, who referred to 21 Savage as “trash.” Adding to the discussion, Fivio Foreign stated that Nas had accomplished “too much…to be disrespected like that.”

Previously, the likes of KXNG Crooked, Kodak Black, Fivio Foreign, Nas’ brother and more also called out 21 Savage for his remarks on Nas. Savage then clarified his comments with a tweet: “I would never disrespect nas or any legend who paved the way for me y’all be tryna take stuff and run with it [facepalm emoji].”
