Conway The Machine Reveals Why Eminem Wasn't Involved In Making Of His New Album

Conway The Machine discuss Eminem not being involved on the new album.

After a long wait, Conway the Machine finally released his Shady Records debut album “God Don’t Make Mistakes“. The 12 song project features appearances from Benny the Butcher, Westside Gunn, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and more. The rapper again made an appearance on Vlad Tv for a new interview, where the host told him that he got to know about him after the picture with Eminem.

“That’s probably like that for a lot of people,” he responds. “And that’s okay, there’s artists that I wasn’t aware of until somebody posted them or something like that. We super appreciate and grateful for all the opportunities and just for them even f**king with some kids from buffalo. We’re the first dudes from the city to do it like this. I definitely gotta salute Paul [Rosenberg] and Em and you know the whole staff over there [Shady Records], shout out my brother Royce Da 5’9″.”

“No he wasn’t,” he said on no contribution from Eminem on the album. “So as I said this earlier, my album been done for a year, two years, or maybe more. When I first completed the album, I went to Detroit by myself and I played it for Em and Paul. And they loved it, they were like there’s nothing for us to do here, like this sh*t fire. But he send me some beat and sh*t. I cooked up something but I didn’t think it fit the album. And I had the impression that I already have “Bang” for the album before it got leaked and we didn’t use it for the album. So I am not the kind of person like too greedy, like Nah I need the verse, let me get a beat, let me produce this song. I like to show I can stand on my own too and hold it down and I felt like I did that on this tape.”

On songs like “Lock On,” “Tear Gas,” and “Piano Love, Conway pours down his characteristic “freaky” verses in his debut studio record under Eminem’s Shady Records. Conway rips away all his clothes and places him in an uncomfortable spot, telling intimate narratives about the loss of his son and cousin, struggles with drinking, being assaulted at 10 months old, and more.
