50 Cent talks about getting Eminem on his new show “BMF”.
50 Cent’s new Starz Series “BMF” is all set to debut on TV tomorrow on September 26th. For the promo run, Curtis Jackson sat down with MSNBC’s Ari Melber for a new interview where he talks about his 2020 election commentary, taxes, directing, his evolution throughout his career, and more. 50 Cent was also asked about the star guests on “Black Mafia Family”, which includes his good friend Eminem and Snoop Dogg.
“I got him [Eminem] on the actual project, Episode 7 of BMF, you will get a chance to see him,” says 50 Cent. “He is playing White Boy Rick, a guy from Detroit that he was aware of rick’s story prior to me getting him to talk to him about playing the role in it and he came around pretty good. He has not done anything since 8 Mile so it’s a big deal like everyone’s all excited about it and I’m just happy that he did it when I’m directing. It’s exciting.”
“Does he listen to you?” asks Ari Melber. “Yeah, he did. He was like ‘yo so what we’re doing here’ he was waiting for me to give him directions on set and he did different things,” explains Fifty. “It was a great experience for me. And you know, our entire relationship, even though I was on Em’s label and supposed to do what he told me to do. He always acts like it was a favor. He was like ‘yo let me just favor when it’s time to do a song together’ and I’m like ‘yeah, and anything else you ask me to do’ because my career wouldn’t be what it is without him being part of it the way he was. I love him to death.”
Yesterday, 50 Cent held a star-studded BMF Premiere in Atlanta, where rapper T.I. again called out the POWER mogul for a VERZUZ Battle.
The upcoming BMF show is inspired by the true story of two brothers, Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, who rose from the streets of Southwest Detroit in the late 1980s.
Previously, the real-life White Boy Rick also addressed Eminem playing him on the upcoming show and said it’s an honor for him. “It’s Eminem, so that’s an honor to have him portray me in a series,” said Rick. “He was actually one of the first people to looking to do a movie about me so it’s pretty cool that later down the line he gets to take on this role. Before this all came about, If you look at my Instagram, I wore a “Free Big Meech” shirt before this was even in work so I was always been a supporter of his. I don’t believe anybody should get 30 years for a non-violent crime.”
50 also commented on Snoop Dogg’s role in Black Mafia Family, “I actually threw myself out of this one. I was originally cast to play Pastor Swift, the role that Snoop [Dogg] is now playing. It’s because I knew I had to market this whilst also doing promotional stuff for Raising Kanan which I did a voiceover for, and I didn’t want that to be in people’s minds when I reappeared in BMF.”
