Tom MacDonald Shouts Out Eminem, Biggie & Tupac On His New Song “Cancelled”

Tom MacDonald drops the new song “Cancelled”, shouts out Eminem, and more.

Tom MacDonald, who was falsely accused of dissing Eminem in the song “Fake Woke,” has released a new single. Tom MacDonald continues releasing new material as he drops another new song titled “Cancelled”, which is a self-produced track and the music video is also directed by the Canadian rapper. With the release of his song “Whiteboy,” MacDonald soared to notoriety, and his singles “Fake Woke,” “Snowflakes,” and “Brainwashed” all charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021.

The Song highlight Tom’s wordplay and he raps about how he independently working on his music and no one can cancel him in this Journey. Tom MacDonald also names drops Hip-Hop legends Biggie, Tupac, and Eminem.

I’m shooting my shot, I’m Biggie, I’m Shady, I’m new school ‘Pac
Go ahead and call me a piece of garbage, make a starving artist your primary target
I’m the largest monster in the farthest darkness, now my claws are sharpened, I’m an army sergeant

He mentioned Eminem in his recently released track “Fake Woke” too which many considered shots towards the Detroit rapper.

Tom continued his tradition of internet-breaking and conversation-starting exploits earlier this year. With “Fake Woke,” he took a direct shot at cancel culture, amassing 15 million YouTube views. It charted in the Spotify Viral Top 50 and received four Billboard #1s, including Tom’s own #1 on the Billboard Emerging Artists Chart. On the same day it was released, “Best Rapper Ever” outsold Eminem’s entire Music To Be Murdered By: Side B album on iTunes.

Before it was abruptly deleted from iTunes, ‘Fake Woke’ was performing rather well, as many fans and social media users noted. The Canadian rapper explained that the song was taken down due to a “internal mistake” on his part. ‘Fake Woke’ was a huge hit with fans, reaching number one on iTunes and receiving over 6 million views on YouTube. “I’ve indicated numerous times, it was an internal error on my side,” Tom wrote on Instagram in response to one admirer. “It’ll be back soon,” says the narrator.

Tom does the same way in the song “Dear Slim,” essentially presenting himself as the modern-day Slim Shady. No, he won’t be selling as many records as Marshall did at his peak. However, McDonald notices that they share a lot of characteristics. And the song is titled “Dear Slim” because he is explicitly addressing Eminem in the lyrics.

In a Facebook live stream, MacDonald talked about his favorite Eminem songs. “My favorite Eminem song? Jeez, what is my favorite Eminem song? It’s gotta be something old. It’s gotta be off of either ‘The Marshall Mathers LP’ or ‘The Eminem Show.’ Cause I kinda fell off after ‘The Eminem Show’, when Encore dropped. I listened to Encore but I was kinda like weirded out by the direction things were going in so Encore was definitely last Eminem album I listened to.”
