Snoop Dogg Releases New Single Touch Away Feat. October London

Snoop Dogg shares the new song “Touch Away” with October London.

Snoop Dogg is back to the music scene with some new material as he enlists his frequent collaborator October London for a brand new single called “Touch Away”. Along with the new track, the Lond Beach legend also announced a new “Death Row Summer” album. The rapper was also supposed to drop his Mount Westmore album with Ice Cube, Too Short and E-40 last month, but it has been pushed back.

“I gotta be, I gotta be a better me / Top dog, whole ‘nother Pedigree / Snoop Dogg, ain’t none of y’all ahead of me / I’m all peace, no beef, so I’ma let it be / Splitting backwards, sitting in front of a tree / I’m thinking back, this is right where I wanted to be,” he raps.

A couple of months back, Snoop Dogg performed at the 2022 NFL Super Bowl Halftime show with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige. At the same time, he also dropped his album called “Back On Death Row“.

Dogg combines bouncy synthesizers, sparkling vocals, and a simple start rhythm that is reminiscent of a West Coast groove on this single. London’s silky and sensuous vocals form a soulful chorus, easing us into Snoop’s characteristic cool-as-can-be verses with ease and confidence. On this song, his flow seems unaffected, and he switches it up in the second verse with more fluidity than Snoop has shown in recent releases.

Snoop Dogg stated in February that he now owns Death Row Records, the label that launched his career in the 1990s. Dr. Dre and Suge Knight created the label after N.W.A disbanded, and it released Dre’s breakthrough solo album The Chronic as well as Snoop Dogg’s critically acclaimed Doggystyle. Snoop initially only intended to reclaim his masters, but after it was revealed that he had purchased the company, he went back and purchased not only his masters, but the masters of every artist signed to the record during that time period.
