Russ Returns With A New Self Produced Song That Was Me

Russ shares new song “That Was Me”.

Russ is back with some new material as the Atlanta rapper unleashes a brand new track titled “That Was Me”. The self-produced record follows up Russ’ previous offering “Are You Entertained” with Ed Sheeran.

The new song arrives after the cancellation of the European tour due to mental health. “I have to cancel the European tour,” he wrote. “I could make up excuses so that I don’t lose money but the reality is mentally I feel like sh*t. In the last 24 hours sh*t happened that has led to some extremely lonely and empty realizations about things in my family life that have me head felling like it’s gonna burst.”

“My parents were embarrassed, hated seein’ them like that / They carried me this far, it’s time I put ’em on my back / My songs are breakin’ through, my car was breakin’ down / Yeah the pressure grew, I had to make it now,” he raps.

Fans are upset that Russ has cancelled the European portion of his tour, but they are relieved that he is prioritizing his mental health. “I have to cancel the European tour. I could make up excuses so that I don’t lose money but the reality is mentally I feel like sh*t,” Russ wrote in an open message on social media.

Russ collaborated with Ed Sheeran in his “Are You Entertained” video to paint London red, costing millions of dollars to market the track. In his jet-set film for “Yes Sir,” he also captured a journey to Paris.
