New Music Nas - Life is Like a Dice Game (Feat. Cordae & Freddie Gibbs)

Nas drops “Life is Like a Dice Game” with Cordae and Freddie Gibbs.

Nas returns with some new material as he decided to re-create an old unreleased song called “Life is Like a Dice Game”. For the newly remastered version for the 90s track, he enlists Cordae and Freddie Gibbs and releases it through Spotify’s Singles Series. The song is produced by Nas’ go-to collaborator Hit-Boy. It was recorded during the “Illmatic” sessions in 1993.

Early 90s, I recorded a song called Life Is Like a Dice Game that was never officially released… until now. Go hear the official version with Cordae and Freddie Gibbs,” wrote Nas.

Spotify pulled out a leak from the 90s that I did eons ago, and asked if I could resurrect it,” Nas said of the track, per HipHop-N-More. “I can’t remember where I recorded it, or who produced it – maybe Easy Moe Bee, he was killin’ the game at the time! Carl Chery from Spotify suggested we connect with Freddie & Cordae to bring the song new life and I loved it.

Nas recorded a freestyle with the same name during the Illmatic sessions in 1993, and the song was derived from it. The rapper was optimistic about the initial tune (which concluded with the line, “It ended with the line,“When I finish the shit it’s going to be a hit”), but he never made a full studio version until now.
