Eminem throws jabs at 6ix9ine while giving props to Meek Mill.
Last night, Cordae dropped his brand new second studio album “From A Bird’s Eye View“, with guest appearances from Eminem, Nas, Freddie Gibbs, Lil Durk, Gunna, and more. “Parables” Remix is Eminem’s first verse of 2022, and as usual, there are some name drops.
In his lyrics, the Detroit Rapper references last year’s spat between Meek Mill and 6ix9ine.
“So I treat a beat like it’s Tekashi, spit on that bi**h like Meek Mill / My addiction got me weak-willed / I’m relapsing, I think I can’t seem to stop eating Beat Pills / And Doctor D-R-E he still keeps on giving me refills,” he raps.
Em previously dissed 6ix9ine on his single “Zeus,” rapping, “She says I’m trash, but she listens to Tekashi.” On the same track, he also apologised to Rihanna for a leaked lyric that alluded to Chris Brown’s domestic abuse case.
The release of the “Parables” remix hurts 6ix9ine but benefits Cordae. In a 2020 interview on Cordae’s performance of “Lose Yourself” at the Academy Awards, Em expressed his respect for him.
This is Cordae’s second collaboration with Eminem, after last year’s “Killer” Remix which also featured Jack Harlow.
In a February 2020 interview with Eminem, Cordae was mentioned with Young M.A. and Griselda as some of the up-and-coming musicians who had an impact on him.
“We had Young M.A on the album, and she’s definitely one of the new artists that I’m super excited about — every time she puts something out, I listen,” he told Vulture. “And the guys we have signed to our label, [Buffalo, N.Y. rap trio] Griselda, that’s exciting. YBN Cordae, he’s dope.”
