Bas Releases A New Song The Jackie Feat. J. Cole & Lil Tjay

Bas drops “The Jackie” with J. Cole & Lil Tjay.

After an official announcement a week ago, Bas has dropped his brand new song called “The Jackie” which features assistance from J. Cole and Lil Tjay. The Dreamville rapper has been teasing the song for a few weeks and finally dropped it with the label boss Jermaine. The song features production from T-Minus. A music video for the record will also drop later today. Not only a guest verse, but J. Cole also provides a catchy chorus.

I’m lettin’ you know, I gotta stay down on the road
I’m lettin’ you know, she gotta lock down while I’m gone
We don’t do average sh*t, I got a magic stick, can’t you see?
Whole lot of lavish sh*t, used to not havin’ sh*t, no, no, no
Slide in that b***h with my Guccis on, just tryna stay out the way
Money get made when I sleep, I don’t do nothin’ for free
I had some Dior slippers, I don’t know what I did with ’em
Bret Hart when I’m sharpshootin’
I applied for them M’s and you know I got ’em,” Cole raps in his verse.

Since The Off-Season, Cole’s most recent album, was released in May, “The Jackie” is his first appearance on vinyl. The lp landed No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Tjay, meantime, has maintained his stride since the release of his second album, Destined 2 Win, in April. and recently providing guest verses to G Herbo’s “Cry No More” and Tee Grizzley’s “Life Insurance.”

UPDATE: Added the official video. J. Cole appears in the music video, directed by John Tashiro, as an Uber driver with drinks and snacks. He drives Bas and his lady across New York City in a coupe before heading to a party.

Meanwhile, Tjay has maintained his momentum since the release of his sophomore album, Destined 2 Win, in April. as well as guest verses on Tee Grizzley’s “Life Insurance” and G Herbo’s “Cry No More.”

J. Cole’s new album, The Off-Season, was released in May, and it featured the rapper addressing themes of race, class, and gender. He dropped a new cinema vérité-style video for the album cut “Punchin’ the Clock” last month. J. Cole’s first official album after 2018’s KOD is The Off-Season.

This autumn, the rapper will go on tour to promote the record. The tour will begin up on September 24th at the FTX Arena in Miami and conclude on October 21st at the Forum in Los Angeles. 21 Savage and Morray will offer support on the tour (save for a show in Atlanta on September 27th). Tickets are now on sale.
