Westside Gunn drops his new album “Pray For Paris” feat Tyler the Creator, Wale & others.

Griselda’s Westside Gunn returns with some new material as he releases his brand new album “Pray For Paris” which he has been promoting for some time. The project was recorded in just two days in Paris when Virgil Abloh invited Gunn to the country.

Virgil Abloh designed the cover, which features Caravaggio’s David with the Head of Goliath. Westside Gunn and Virgil Abloh live-streamed the entire album on Twitch before it was released.

The project contains 13 tracks with guest appearances from Wale, Tyler the Creator, Joey Badass, Freddie Gibbs, and more. Westside Gunn has never been one for subtlety, and his latest album proves it more than ever. Daringer, Beat Butcha, the Alchemist, DJ Muggs, and DJ Premier produced the album.

“Pray for Paris” begins with a recording of the record-breaking $450 million USD sale of Leonardo da Vinci’s “Salvator Mundi” painting at Christie’s New York. Gunn is clearly promoting his latest work as a rap album of bespoke luxury as the gavel announces the last sale.

To say the least, Westside Gunn has had an eventful year. On the one hand, the Griselda rapper recently released the critically praised “Pray For Paris“, which many consider being his best work to date. Gunn, on the other hand, was hampered by the coronavirus for weeks before finally recovering and emerging as a completely recovered survivor. During a phone interview with Ebro Darden, Gunn discussed his battle with COVID-19, which he claims “almost took him out.

Gunn remarked, “I always felt I had the best ear in hip hop.” “If you really think about it, on a consistent level, go from the first song on Hitler (Wears Hermes) 1 going to the last song on Pray For Paris, and all 20 projects from Griselda… My production has always been stellar. With this project, I didn’t go out there with a plan to make a project. I cook everything from scratch. I didn’t have no beats.”
