Logic drops the “YS Collection Vol. 1” album.
After a Michael Jordan style return from his retirement last week and the release of the song called “Intro“, Logic continues releasing new material as he drops an album called “YS Collection Vol. 1“. The project features some previously released songs as well as some unreleased tracks from his decade-old “Young Sinatra” mixtape.
Logic’s nearly year-long retirement came to an end on June 17, when he issued a press statement evoking Michael Jordan’s 1995 “I’m back” proclamation, which signaled his return to the NBA. Following that statement, Logic released a new song called “Intro.” However, it appears that the rapper was never truly retired, as he and Madlib released a number of tracks from their new collaboration project MadGic earlier this year. Logic also released the song “Tired in Malibu” in April.
“It’s taken us years but we finally cleared songs from over ten years ago for the fans to enjoy! Many of you for the first time. The YS Collection is compiled of songs from the Young Sinatra mixtape series,” wrote Logic. Logic has four projects in the ‘Young Sinatra’ series which were released in 2011, 2012, 2013, and the most recent 2018.

YS Collection Vol. 1 arrives a year after No Pressure, which was intended to be his farewell album. That 15-track album was a turning point in the artist’s career, as he regrouped in the studio with No I.D. Not only did the legendary producer direct Logic’s trailblazing 2014 debut, Under Pressure, but he also signed the young singer to Def Jam. With additional production from 6IX, No Pressure finds the GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum musician returning to his origins and crafting songs he enjoys with “no pressure.” Logic appears to have achieved that aim with YS Collection Vol. 1.
