Lil Durk Pays Tribute To King Von on New Album The Voice

Lil Durk drops a new project “The Voice” feat Young Thug, 6LACK & others.

After giving us the ‘Backdoor‘ song & video a few days ago, Lil Durk continues releasing new material as he drops his brand new project called “The Voice“. The 16 track album is dedicated to his friend and OTF affiliate, King Von, who was shot dead last month.

Lil Durk’s longtime nickname inspired the album’s title. He’d been teasing it for a while, starting with a photo of himself on social media on August 28, 2020, promoting the title track. During their feud, he originally stated that he would release new music on the same day as rapper 6ix9ine’s second studio album, TattleTales.

The album is a tribute to late American rapper King Von, who died in a shooting in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 6, 2020. King Von was a longtime friend and labelmate of the rapper.

The new album, which also has a photo of Durk with Von on the cover, comes after the publication of his single “Backdoor.” Durk collaborated with Drake on the Certified Lover Boy track “Laugh Now Cry Later” before to the release of The Voice, which he only confirmed on Wednesday. In May, he released his fifth studio album, Just Cause Y’all Waited 2, on which he collaborated with Lil Baby, Gunna, and G Herbo, among others.

The project features assistance from 6LACK, Young Thug, YMW Melly, and more. Stream the full thing below.
