French Montana & Harry Fraud Releases New Album Montega

French Montana and Harry Fraud connect on “Montega”.

Following the release of the “Bricks & Bags” music video with Benny The Butcher & Jadakiss earlier this week, French Montana and Harry Fraud has dropped their new joint album “Montega”. The new project contains 12 tracks, with additional guest appearances from Rick Ross, Quavo, Chinx, EST Gee and more.

“‘For ‘Bricks & Bags’ me and Fraud wanted to bring together two artists that, to me represent that impeccable Cokeboy sound,” French said in a statement to Complex. “Jadakiss gave me one of my first major co-signs when we did ‘New York Minute’ in 2009. And Benny continues to show why he is one of the best artists to emerge out of the East Coast in the past few years.”

“On ‘Bricks & Bags’ me and French wanted to create a record that brought us back to that grimy New York era that shaped our youth,” said Fraud. “A hard hitting beat with two of the deadliest lyricists in the game. Steel sharpens steel and this song personifies that.”

The Mac & Cheese and Coke Boys series of popular mixtapes carried and expanded their style, solidifying a run from the pair from 2010 to 2012. The 2012 song “Shot Caller,” which uses a ringing trumpet sample from a 1979 Thomas Bell Orchestra track, would represent the pinnacle of this run. French’s casual yet effective flex raps would be caught by Fraud’s distinctive, changing, trembling, and booming drumming below the horn like a home run into Jeter’s mitt at Yankee Stadium.

The new project follows up French Montana’s last year’s effort “They Got Amnesia“.
