Back in July, Fat Joe teamed up with Remy Ma and Cool & Dre for “Back Outside“. The new project is a follow-up to Fat Joe’s last year’s album “Family Ties” which featured Eminem, Lil Wayne & more.

What Big Would Do The second Gangsta Grillz-directed project of 2021 follows Tyler, The Creator’s No. 1 album CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST and might have a successor if the storied Long Island Plugs give the go-ahead.

Joe receiving a Gangsta Grillz project fits in well with how hot New York hip-hop has been in recent weeks. The Lox and Dipset rekindled the city last week with their electrifying Verzuz battle at Madison Square Garden. The legendary arena, combined with the presence of rap legends and groups, including Fat Joe, made for an unforgettable night.

Drama outlined Tyler’s lifelong desire to produce a Gangsta Grillz endeavour. “As you can see from Tyler’s tweet, he said 10 or 11 years ago that he wanted a f**kin’ Gangsta Grillz,” Drama explained. “So we’ve worked together in the past, and been cool and cordial through the years. Last summer, he reached out to me. He was like, ‘Yo, I got something. I got this idea.’ And we talked it over. Initially, he was going to send me the music, but we all decided that it’d be best if I just come out to L.A. and work on it directly.”

Before collaborating with Dre on What Would Big Do 2021, the Terror Squad alum released the joint album Family Ties in 2019. It had 11 songs and features from Remy, Jeremih, Bryson Tiller, Big Bank, Cardi B, Anuel AA, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Ty Dolla $ign, and Lil Wayne, among others. In 2019, Joe and Remy each released their own full-length, the well-liked Plata O Plomo, which featured the platinum-certified hit “All The Way Up.”
