Adele drops her brand new album “30”.
Adele makes her grand return as she releases her fourth studio album “30”. It is her first project after a long hiatus of 6 years. The project is laced with previously releases single “Easy On Me“. “I was certainly nowhere near where I’d hoped to be when I first started it nearly 3 years ago. Quite the opposite actually. I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe, I always have. And yet there I was knowingly – willingly even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil,” she said while announcing the album.
“It was like it really helped me, this album,” Adele told Apple Music’s, Zane Lowe. “It really, really did. And I truly do believe, like when we started the interview where I was like, ‘There’s not an occasion or a scenario or a feeling where there is not the perfect song for it somewhere.’ I really do believe, and I’m not being arrogant or anything like that here, it’s just like, it was my hell, but I really went to hell and back.”
The new album contains 12 tracks, which includes 3 bonus records. The project only features a lone guest appearance from Erroll Garner on the “All Night Parking” Interlude.
Adele’s previous album “25” was released in 2015, and created history in the US after selling over 3.38 million copies in its first week, the largest for an album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking music sales in 1991.
On October 29, 2021, three weeks before its release, the album broke the Apple Music record for the most pre-added album ever on the streaming platform, surpassing Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever (2021); 30 also broke the record for the most pre-adds in a single day, as well as the record for the shortest timeframe. After just three days, 30 became the best-selling album of 2021 in the United States. It eclipsed Taylor Swift’s Evermore (2020), which previously held the mark with 462,000 sales, with 500,000 pure copies sold in the span. The album also had the year’s best sales week, surpassing the 369,000 copies sold by Red (Taylor’s Version) earlier that month. 30 sold 575,000 album-equivalent copies in three days.
