Eminem talks about his daughter on Mike Tyson’s podcast.
Eminem seldom speaks about his children in interviews, and it’s obvious why: he wants to safeguard their privacy, just as any parent would! As a result, when Eminem mentioned Hailie Jade Mathers—the inspiration for his songs “Hailie’s Song” and “Mockingbird”—in an interview last week, folks were taken aback. Eminem sat down with Mike Tyson for a new interview on “Hotboxin’ Podcast” where both the legends in their field talk about their careers. At around 32:44, Mike Tyson asked Em about how his Daughter Hailie is doing and if she has boyfriends and babies.
He also discusses how he has always chosen to keep his children out of the spotlight and away from the hoopla. The rapper opened out about his children and how pleased he is with Hailie, who has a solid college degree and has turned out to be a nice human being. The rapper was devoted to his children and has kept a quiet profile in his personal life for many years. The paparazzi have always been interested in his personal life, despite his successful music career.
Hailie Mathers has become a well-known presence on social media in recent years. With over two million Instagram followers, the 24-year-old is a coveted commodity in the influencer world. As he mentioned on the show, Eminem is incredibly proud of his daughter.

“Hailie is 23,” says Em who rarely talks about his daughter. “Not babies, nope. Just boyfriend and she’s doing good she has made me proud for sure. She graduated from college, 3.9.”
Hailie earned a 3.9 GPA while studying psychology at Michigan State University. When she was a newborn, she was featured heavily in Eminem’s music, so audiences learned about their father-daughter bond through songs like “Mockingbird” and “Hailie’s Song.”
Then Eben Britton asked, “How does it feel you have a 23-year-old, I was just listening to Slim Shady.”
“Yeah it definitely is crazy,” says Eminem. “I have a niece that I have helped raise too, that’s kind of like a daughter pretty much like a daughter to me and she’s 26 and then I have a younger one that’s 17 now. So when I think about my accomplishments, that’s probably the thing I’m most proud of is that is being able to raise kids.”
Hailie Jade’s latest venture will include her father’s rapper alter ego “Shady.” With over 2.8 million Instagram followers, the social media influencer is launching her own podcast, “Just A Little Shady,” with a pal. She developed a YouTube account for the podcast, as well as an Instagram profile with over 30k followers.
In the first episode, Hailie and Brittany talked about their travel experiences, favorite childhood memories, and what it was like to attend a special princess tea party at Disney World. Hailie shows thanks as she thinks back on all the bizarre situations she’s shared with her dad.
She said that the family was tight, but they were lousy at small chat. “It was my dad’s birthday this week,” began Hailie. “We all got together, and it was very funny. It was ‘friends and family’. But while everyone was strolling in and we were waiting for everybody to get there, we ended up collecting at a table, just the family. After 10 minutes went by and we realised people were coming in, it appeared as if we were having a meeting.” “There is one thing about us, we can maintain and carry a conversation, no problem.”
Hailie discussed her background, abiding by her family’s regulations, and the reasons she wants to stay away from underage drinking.
According to records filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, she also filed a trademark application for her podcast on June 15 of this year under the firm name Hailie Jade, LLC.
In a previous interview with Rolling Stone, while discussing parenthood, Eminem said, “Being a dad is definitely living a double life. Taking the kids to school, picking ’em up, teaching ’em rules. I’m not saying I’m the perfect father, but the most important thing is to be there for my kids and raise them the right way.”
Em also talked about his unexpected presence at the 92nd Academy Awards, when he sang his 2002 song from the band 8 Mile, “Lose Yourself.” Almost twenty years after it won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, co-host Eben Britton questioned Slim about how it felt to sing the song. Em shook his head and sighed with dissatisfaction. It turns out there was a little issue, which the majority of viewers most likely overlooked.
“I’mma tell you why I’m making that face. Because when I went there, everything was cool, right?” he explained (31:07). “I go through the first verse, and they had the mic pack that you wear on your belt … and I’m rappin’, and all of sudden I see between my legs, the motherf**kin’ pack swinging.”
Eminem discussed his long path into the rap game, from battle rapping to finally being found by Dr. Dre, in other parts of the conversation. The Detroit rhymer also told Iron Mike about his boxing experiences as a youth, including how he was never a decent fighter.
