The 21st annual 2021 BET Awards was telecasted earlier tonight straight from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. The event with the “Year of the Black Woman” theme, was hosted by Taraji P. Henson. As the theme suggests, the award show was also dominated by Megan Thee Stallion who took home four trophies, out of 7 nominations.
The show was packed with many amazing performances from the artists like Cardi B, DaBaby, City Girls, DJ Khaled, H.E.R., Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion, Migos, Moneybagg Yo, Roddy Ricch, Tyler the Creator, and more.
Lil Nas X Performed the controversial single “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)“, Megan Thee Stallion performed her hit “Th*t Sh*t” in a latex cut-out bodysuit and matching-hight boots. Tyler, the Creator who recently dropped his new album “Call Me If You Get Lost“, performed the lead single “Lumberjack“. Silk Sonic, the group of Anderson .Paak and Bruno who also took home the Best Group award performed their song called “Leave The Door Open“.
DJ Khaled joined forces with Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, Lil Baby, Lil Durk to performed “Every Chance I Get” and “I Did It“. The Atlanta trio Migos was joined by pregnant Cardi for the performance of “Straightenin” and “Type Sh*t” from the latest “Culture III” Album. Lil Baby and Kirk Franklin performed the song called “We Win” from the “Space Jam: A New Legacy” soundtrack. DaBaby performed his latest song called “Ball If I Want To“.
