VOTE NOW Eminem Is Nominated For 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announces nominations for the class of 2022, featuring Eminem, A Tribe Called Quest & More.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has officially announced the nominees for their 2022 event which will take place later this year. The legendary Eminem who became eligible for the iconic honour last year also received a nomination among 17 acts. The other Hip-Hop act on the list is the group A Tribe Called Quest.

This is Eminem and A Tribe Called Quest’s first appearance in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees, along with Duran Duran, Dolly Patron, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon and Beck. The other musicians on the list are Fela Kuti, MC5, the New York Dolls, Pat Benatar, Kate Bush, Devo, Eurythmics, Judas Priest, Rage Against the Machine and Dionne Warwick.

Eminem became eligible for the Hall of Fame with the 25th anniversary of his debut album “Infinite”, which was released in November 1996. Last year, Eminem also made an appearance at the event to help induct LL Cool J for the Hall of Fame, as well for performance.

The fans can also vote for their favourite artists as the top 5 selected acts will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2022 inductees. Currently, Pat Benatar, Dolly Parton, Duran Duran, Eurythmics and Carly Simon are leading the votes.

“This year’s ballot recognizes a diverse group of incredible artists, each who has had a profound impact on the sound of youth culture,” said John Sykes, chairman of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. “Their music not only moved generations, but also influenced the sound of countless artists that followed.”

The group will reveal this year’s inductees in May, and they will be recognised at a ceremony later in the year. JAY-Z, LL Cool J, Tina Turner, and others were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse last October. “… You know, growing up, we didn’t think we could be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,” Hov said in his acceptance speech. “We were told that hip hop was a fad. Much like punk rock, it gave us this anti-culture, this subgenre, and there were heroes in it.”
