Travis Scott & Drake Sued Over Deadly Astroworld Festival Tragedy

A victim sues Drake and Travis Scott over the Astroworld Festival.

Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival 2021 turned into a tragedy after the chaotic event left 8 people dead. As expected, the lawsuits are starting to chime in as one festivalgoer named Kristian Paredes, 23 from Austin has sued Travis Scott, along with guest performer Drake for over $1 million.

According to Paredes, Drake made the surprise appearance and helped incite the crowd along with headliner Travis Scott. He states that the duo continued to perform ‘as the crowd became out of control’ and ‘while the crowd mayhem continued.’ Now Kristian Paredes seeking the amount to cover medical expenses, and for permanent body injuries.

“There is no excuse for the events that unfolded at NRG Stadium on Friday night,” states Paredes lawyer Thomas J. Henry. “There is every indication that the performers, organizers, and venue were not only aware of the hectic crowd but also that injuries and potential deaths may have occurred. Still, they decided to put profits over their attendees and allowed the deadly show to go on.”

The attorney continues, “Live musical performances are meant to inspire catharsis, not tragedy. Many of these concert-goers were looking forward to this event for months, and they deserved a safe environment in which to have fun and enjoy the evening. Instead, their night was one of fear, injury, and death.”

The ‘devastated’ Travis Scott and his girlfriend Kylie Jenner recently released statements after the devastating things that took place at Astroworld on Saturday. “I’m absolutely devastated by what took place last night,” wrote Travis Scott. “My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival.”

“Travis and I are broken and devastated,” wrote Jenner. “My thoughts and prayers are with all who lost their lives, were injured or affected in anyway by yesterday’s events.”

Houston police chief Troy Finner stated in a message on Twitter that he met with Scott and his head of security “for a few seconds” before the event to voice his worries about safety. Police in the Texas city are investigating into separate accusations that someone in the audience was injecting individuals with narcotics as part of their inquiry.

Several concertgoers, including a security guard who authorities claimed looked to have an injection mark in his neck, had to be revived with anti-drug overdose treatment. FBI Director Christopher Wray has stated that the bureau is assisting investigators with “technological support.”
