Tom MacDonald Thinks That Eminem Dissed Him In His New Song

Did Eminem diss Tom MacDonald in his new song?

Eminem recently made his return with some new material as he contributed to the new Columbia Pictures movie “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”. The Detroit Rapper teamed up with his long-time collaborator Skylar Grey, along with Polo G and Mozzy for the track called “Last One Standing“. Now, Tom MacDonald, the Canadian independent rapper wonders if Eminem dissed him in his verse, which references lyrics of one of his songs.

Tom MacDonald shared some lines from his track “Don’t Look Down“, where he is name-dropping Eminem’s alter ego, Slim Shady. The lyrics read as:

I’m the one that y’all hated
I’m the one who won the game, got paid and famous
I’m the one who laughed in all they faces
And became the greatest since old Slim Shady.

I’m scared if I look at the water, I’ll drown
So I look at the sky and deny there’s a ground
I’m not scared of the altitude up in the clouds
I’m scared of the fall, so I don’t look down.

Now in Eminem’s “Last One Standing” verse, the lyrics seem to be referencing the above lines by MacDonald.

And rappers, how can we be
On the same level now when I gotta look down and see these
Clowns that are on the ground?
Bi–h, I got clouds beneath me,” Eminem raps.

Eminem continues to slam today’s hip-hop artists. In several of his latest tracks, he claims that today’s “mumble” rap is nothing like lyrical rap. On his album “Kamikaze,” he also dissed a number of mumble rappers. Em refers to these rappers as “clowns” in this phrase because they are far below him, on the ground, while he is above the sky.

2021’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage includes the song as a soundtrack. The day before the movie was to be released, on September 30, 2021, the music was made public. It was Mozzy’s first entry overall and Skylar Grey’s first entry as a lead artist on the US Billboard Hot 100 when it debuted at number 78. Venom and his spawn Carnage perform a duet about their respective hosts in the song’s accompanying lyric video.

In 2020, Tom released his sixth studio album “Gravestones,” his third mixtape “Flowers For The Dead,” and a joint album with Madchild called “Killing the Neighbors.”

In this paragraph, there might be a link to Skylar’s middle finger post above the earth. The clouds underneath Eminem allude to him being high in the sky, comparing himself to God, which might be a reference to his October 2013 single “Rap God.” This might possibly be a reference to his tune “Zeus,” which will be released in December 2020 and features White Gold.

Tomas MacDonald spent six years as a professional wrestler in Canada before starting rapping in 2009. In 2014, he published his debut album, “LeeAnn’s Son.” He launched his YouTube page with the tune “Wannabe,” and his first successful single, “Dear Rappers,” was published in 2014.

Tom MacDonald often name-drops the Detroit Rapper in his songs and claims to be hugely influenced by him. A few months ago, Eminem held his first-ever NFT drop, in which MacDonald bought an original beat of the Shady Records boss, in a whopping $100k. He then used the same instrumental for his song called “Dear Slim” which was dedicated to and inspired by Eminem.

“Did Eminem REALLY diss me in his new song?” Tom wrote on Instagram, including the lyrics to both tracks. Some people even think it’s a diss towards NF as one of the fans commented: “He could’ve dissed you, or possibly NF, since he released an album called CLOUDS. Personally, the way he put “clowns” in there, makes me believe it’s a jab at Tom since he made a song called Clown World, but I’m not sure.”

On a new song, the Canadian rapper claps back at his detractors and claims to be following in the footsteps of hip hop’s best. Tom MacDonald appears to be having a rough time since dropping Eminem’s name on his last album “Fake Woke,” and in an unflattering context to boot. Many fans saw this as an open insult and, as is customary, rose to defend their favourite.

Tom’s remark, on the other hand, is a far cry from what Eminem detractors have recently said online. His new song is a well-thought-out response to Internet pressure, touching on all of the major grounds of contention.

In an interview, the Canadian rapper addressed hate over owning the Eminem beat. “Welcome to a very special edition of Tom MacDonald helps you not be mad and confused,” says Tom MacDonald. “Today I told the internet that I might be in possession of an original beat produced by Eminem. And it seems like a lot of you guys are really mad and really confused, so let me help you. If I got a beat from probably the greatest rapper of all time, you should be happy, not mad. If I got a beat from the man who literally inspired me to become a rapper, you should be happy, not mad, If as an Independent artist I invested 100,000 dollars into myself to further my independent career, you should be happy, not mad, If I got a beat from Eminem and made history as the first-ever independent artist to do that, you should be happy, not mad. And If I didn’t do any of that then you have nothing to worry about, shut the f**k up. So in closing this is all hypothetical, I am not confirming or denying anything, but I got a big surprise coming and more clues.”

In a Facebook live stream, MacDonald talked about his favorite Eminem songs. “My favorite Eminem song? Jeez, what is my favorite Eminem song? It’s gotta be something old. It’s gotta be off of either ‘The Marshall Mathers LP’ or ‘The Eminem Show.’ Cause I kinda fell off after ‘The Eminem Show’, when Encore dropped. I listened to Encore but I was kinda like weirded out by the direction things were going in so Encore was definitely last Eminem album I listened to.”

In the past two years, Tom MacDonald released four studio albums, which include The Brave with Adam Calhoun, Renegade, The Revolution, and most recently The Brave 2 with Adam Calhoun, which debuted at number 62 on the US Billboard 200.
