The Weeknd to drop a new single “Take My Breath” this Friday, teases through Tokyo Olympic Ad.

Yesterday, The Weeknd kicked off his new era “The Dawn is Coming” with a teaser, and now he revealed that he is dropping a new single this Friday. The Weeknd teased the new single called “Take My Breath” through a Tokyo Olympics Commerical. The promo of Team USA Women’s Track & Field Team features athletes Sydney McLaughlin, Dalilah Muhammad, Athing Mu, and Gabby Thomas. In the caption, Abel wrote “8.6.21 new single.

Along with a couple of new teasers, The Weeknd also cover the GQ Magazine’s September Issue, where he did a long insightful interview on topics like the difference between Abel & The Weeknd, why he stays anonymous, how he got his name, his mixtape “Kiss Land”, Coachella, Trilogy, 2018 EP My Dear Melancholy, being compared to Michael Jackson, Grammy snub and much more.

The Weeknd’s “Take My Breath,” which is set to be released on August 6, is expected to be part of a jam-packed day of new music releases. Kanye West, his “FML” collaborator, is set to release his Donda album on the same day.

In addition, Nas will release the follow-up to his Grammy-winning studio album King’s Disease. For King’s Disease II, it appears that superproducer Hit-Boy was once again at the helm. The Weeknd’s most recent full-length album is 2020’s After Hours. The album spent four weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 list, earning the Recording Industry Association of America’s 2x-Platinum certification.
