The Weeknd Reveals Cover Art For New Album Dawn FM

The Weeknd shares a unique artwork for the new album “Dawn FM”.

Yesterday The Weeknd officially announced his brand new album “Dawn FM“, a follow up to his record-breaking 2020’s effort “After Hours“. The Canadian artist made the announcement through an album trailer, and also revealed the guest appearances for the project. “You are now listening to 103.5 Dawn FM. You’ve been in the dark for way too long, it’s time to walk into the light and accept your fate with open arms,” the trailer states at the end.

The album will feature contributions from Jim Carrey, Quincy Jones, Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne and Oneohtrix Point Never. Now the 31-year-old has unveiled the official cover art for the project, which is a picture of his old self, that also appears in the trailer.

Tesfaye has a history of modifying his appearance, having spent most of the After Hours era in prosthetics or with false facial injuries. Since the release of After Hours, The Weeknd has performed at the Super Bowl, boycotted the Grammy Awards, and released a slew of new music, including “Take My Breath,” as well as collaborations with Post Malone (“One Right Now”), Rosala (“LA FAMA”), Swedish House Mafia (“Moth To A Flame”), and Aaliyah (“Moth To A Flame”) (“Poison”).

The legendary Jim Carrey who also contributed to the project revealed that he has heard the album and said, “I listened to Dawn FM with my good friend Abel @theweeknd last night. It was deep and elegant and it danced me around the room. I’m thrilled to play a part in his symphony.” “Thank you for being a part of this. It’s kismet. Full circle,” responded The Weeknd. The album will be on streaming platforms on January 7th.

In other news, the Weeknd’s official webstore has featured two different Dawn FM album covers, dubbed the Collector’s 01 and Collor’s 02 versions. These editions, which contain artwork by Robert Beatty, will be available on CD and vinyl.
