The Weeknd apologizes to fans for cancelling the LA show just after a few songs.
The Weeknd again faces a setback during his “After Hours Til Dawn”. The Canadian star who previously postponed the Toronto concert in July now had to cancel his LA show. The “Trilogy” hitmaker lost his voice just after performing the first song at his second sold-out show at SoFi Stadium, and then came forward to apologize to the fans.
When he lost his voice the 32-year-old musician was singing Can’t Feel My Face. Abel paused the concert, stepped offstage, and then reappeared to deliver the devastating news that startled 70,000 people.
The Weeknd, heartbroken, informed the audience, “I don’t know what just happened but I think I just lost my voice. This is killing me, I don’t want to stop the show but I can’t give you the concert I want to give you right now.”
“I can’t give you the concert I want to give you. I’m going to make sure everyone’s good, gets your money back, and I’ll do a show real soon for you guys, but I wanted to come out and personally apologize and not tweet it or Instagram it. I wanted you guys to know that I can’t give you what I want to give you. I apologize. I’m so sorry.”

The Weeknd then took to his social media and posted: “My voice went out during the first song and I’m devastated. Felt it go and my heart dropped. My deepest apologies to my fans here. I promise I’ll make it up to you with a new date.”
It’s unfortunate to say that The Weeknd has had to postpone events before. He had earlier stated that the entire tour will be postponed by many months.
The artist said the tour will begin in the summers of 2022 rather than January as originally scheduled in an email in October 2021, explaining that stadiums were needed because of the limitations of arenas and the need for more performances.

The Weeknd canceled his show tonight after a few songs bc he lost his voice.
Don’t hate on him for that, it’s the most defeating and devastating feeling for a singer to lose their voice. It feels like your purpose is gone. If he would’ve kept going, he could’ve hurt it bad.— Spencer Sutherland (@spencermusic) September 4, 2022
For the people booing Abel in the videos I’ve seen.. seriously he was there back to back.. he’s a human he needs rest. His health is his top priority so that way he can do this tour.. True XO fans will understand. @theweeknd @AHDawnTour @Xoupdates1 @MementoMoriXO
