Royce da 5’9″ joins Eminem’s Marshall Mathers Foundation as a Director.

Eminem‘s Marshall Mathers Foundation, which is a charitable organization dedicated to disadvantaged and at-risk Detroit’s youth and Michigan’s surrounding communities, has a new member on board. Eminem’s close friend and one half of Bad Meets Evil, Royce da 5’9″ has joined the Marshall Mathers Foundation as Director of Community Engagement and Social Justice Initiatives. Royce’s role will be to expand the overall mission of the Foundation with an emphasis on fighting social injustice and helping to affect change.

In a joint statement, Eminem and Royce say: “It’s a question everybody should be asking themselves right now, ‘How can I do more?’ We both recognize that by working together to expand the Marshall Mathers Foundation’s mission, we can do more. And we can do it quickly, effectively, and with real impact.

Eminem welcomes Royce to the foundation through a twitter post where he wrote, “Really happy and lucky to have @Royceda59 on board with the #MarshallMathersFoundation to help us reach new goals.

For over 20 years, the two have been friends and colleagues, and together they formed Bad Meets Evil, a duo with one album and a slew of amazing singles. While fans eagerly await the release of a new collaboration record, the two musicians have teamed up for a very different cause. Royce Da 5’9′′ will join Eminem’s foundation as Director of Community Engagement and Social Justice Initiatives, according to Eminem.
