Lil Yachty talks about upcoming Drake album For All The Dogs.
Drake is prepping the release of his brand new album “For All The Dogs“, and the project officially has a release date, which is September 22nd. While fans can’t wait to hear what Drake has in stores for us, the rapper’s good friend Lil Yachty provides some updates on the For all the Dogs album.
Yachty recently made an appearance on A Safe Place Podcast, where he hypes Drizzy’s upcoming effort with an update. “It sounds current, it sounds very current,” Yachty said at the 9:00 minute mark. “It’s interesting it’s coming together a lot better than I thought. I just had a talk with him a couple of days ago in Vancouver and I was… I was a little worried because I have a lot of songs. And I was like, ‘Man I just don’t know. How are you gonna put this together?’ Because there are a lot of great songs but they don’t really, in my brain they didn’t really sound together.”
He continued, “Then we had a talk about it and he explained to me his thought process about it, and we drove to that video shoot which was an hour away, and we listened to it and it makes sense now. Without giving out any details I think if I had to give a description I think it’ll be a record that [is] the most performance album he has as a far as energy. But I will say, I think some of the best Drake verses I’ve ever heard are on this album.”
The forthcoming new album will follow up on Toronto rapper last year’s 21 Savage collab effort “Her Loss” and solo project “Honestly, Nevermind“.
Last month, Lil Yachty also dropped a new three-song EP “Slide” which includes 3 solo offerings. Yachty also linked up with JID for “Van Gogh“.
