Lil Baby teases the new album release in July.
A few weeks back, Lil Baby teased his return to the music and announced that he will drop new material every few weeks until his next studio album. “It’s Gone Be A Nastyyyyy Summer,” tweeted Baby. “My turn again. drop a video every few weeks until.” The rapper then dropped a couple of new music videos “In A Minute” & “Right On”, followed by another new song “Frozen”.
The Atlanta rapper has now revealed that his new album will be dropping in July. The project will be a follow-up to his record-breaking 2020 album “My Turn“, which debuted atop the US Billboard 200, earning 197,000 album-equivalent units, and became his first number-one album. The album was certified triple platinum in February 2021.
“This summer is mine,” the 27-year-old rapper declared in an Instagram Story post from March. According to reports, this was a retort to his Atlanta-native buddy, Gunna. He also believes that summer 2022 is his to have.
“My Turn” was a massive hit and quickly established itself as one of the year’s most important releases. Hit songs including “Woah,” “Sum 2 Prove,” and “Can’t Explain” were produced by it. The album was certified 4x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in February (RIAA).

Earlier this year, Lil Baby also assisted Nicki Minaj on two singles “Do We Have A Problem?” and “Bussin“.
Lil Baby shared the album art and release date for his third studio album, “It’s Only Me,” on his Instagram page on Friday.
Similar to the art painting approach used in “My Turn,” the album cover shows Lil Baby at various points in his life in a Mount Rushmore-like portrait. In the “It’s Only Me” cover, the goats from his 2020 album cover have started sprouting horns, giving a not-so-subtle hint as to where Lil Baby thinks his rap future is headed.
“It’s Only Me” made its debut at the top of the US Billboard 200 chart selling 216,000 album-equivalent units (including 6,500 pure album sales) during its first week of release in the United States. The album generated a total of 288.97 million official streams for its tracks, making it the third-highest number of one-week streams for an album in 2022. This is Lil Baby’s third album to reach the number-one spot on the US chart.
The rapper released his new album “It’s Only Me”, which arrived with 23 tracks, with guest appearances from EST Gee, Nardo Wick, Lil Baby, Pooh Shiesty, Young Thug, Future, Jeremih and more. The rapper also contributed to the Fifa World Cup 2022, as he dropped the Budweiser Anthem “The World Is Yours To Take“.
In a conversation with XXL Magazine, Baby teased a new album for 2023. “Summer is coming up. I got a tour coming, starting in July,” he said. “I’m actually going to drop an album this summer and my artist, Rylo Rodriguez, will be dropping an album this summer.” Baby also responded to the possibility of a joint album with Drake. “Maybe so. Maybe not,” he said.
