Kanye West says he would accept an offer to VERZUZ battle Drake.
Kanye West was the latest guest on N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN’s “Drink Champs” podcast where the “DONDA” rapper sat down for a two and half-hour-long interview. On the show, Kanye West was also asked about the VERZUZ battle, and would he go against Drake if given an offer.
“Have you watched VERZUZ?” asks NORE. “Yeah,” responds Ye. “You know where I’m going with it. Would you step into that ring?” asks NORE. “Oh absolutely,” says Kanye. “But I would need 4 people to go against me at one time. I need producers, I need people who make good albums. I need people who make radio hits. I need every Gemini MC specifically [Laughs].”
“You know what people gonna say… people gonna say, they want Ye against….Who do you think people wanna see you against?” asks NORE, hinting at Drizzy. “It’s Drake, right?” says Kanye. “Thank you, and Hov, that’s might be it,” responds NORE. “Oh, I didn’t think about that one,” Kanye laughs. “I like that”.
“Would you go against Jay,” asks NORE. “Nah, cause that’s my boss, I would never go against Jay,” responds Ye. “But if you go against Drake, who’s winning that?” asks NORE. “I’m winning every situation,” says Kanye.
“If Swizz Beatz and Timbaland ask you to go against Drake, would you take it,” asks NORE. “Yeah, absolutely,” says Ye. “But it already happened. Drake played one of my leaked song [Andre 3000 Collab] and it was better than any song this year.” Then the host asks Kanye about leaking Drizzy’s address, to which he revealed he found it on Google.
Swizz Beatz also addressed his continuing spat with Drake, as The Boy seemed to have taken a jab at the producer in the Certified Lover Boy tune “You Only Live Twice.” The dig was directed at the Bronx beatmaker, who previously branded Drake a “pussy boy” after becoming enraged at a leaked album. Swizz responded, “I’m chilling. A lot of people want to see me react and do all these things, but I’m in such a great zone. I said how I felt, he said how he felt. Hey, man I guess we even. As far as now, I’m good.”
