J. Cole's No Role Modelz Becomes The Longest Charting Song In US Spotify History

J. Cole is the king of the US Spotify Chart.

J. Cole’s classic “No Role Modelz” has hit the all-time peak on US Spotify Chart as the song enters the top 10 for the first time. Along with that, the song also becomes the longest-charting song ever on the platform, lasting over 2300 days. The certified platinum song was released in 2014, through J. Cole’s third studio album “2014 Forest Hills Drive”.

No Role Modelz also had one of the most successful song openers of the decade, with “First things first, rest in peace Uncle Phil. For real, you the only father that I ever knew.”

The major reason for the huge surge in the song’s number is the recent Will Smith and Chris Rock’s Oscars 2022 incident, where the actor slapped the comedian for joking about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith. In the song’s lyrics, Cole rapped about wanting a real love like Will Smith and Jada Pinkett.

“I want a real love, dark-skinned Aunt Viv love / That Jada and that Will love / That leave a toothbrush at your crib love / And you ain’t gotta wonder whether that’s your kid love,” he raps.

This song, which was released seven years ago, still appears to be a fan favourite, since it is presently peaking at #36 on the daily list. The song debuted at #36 on US Billboard Hot 100, peaked at number 62 on the Canadian Hot 100, number 27 on US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and number 14 on US Rhythmic.

Just recently, the Dreamville boss performed the classic song at 50 Cent’s Final Lap Tour’s stop at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
