Eminem is getting closer to EGOT.
Last night, the 2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards were held, where some of the hip-hop icons were honoured. Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent received the trophy in the outstanding variety special category for their NFL Super Bowl halftime show earlier this year. Collectively, the artists have been awarded 43 Grammys and between them have 22 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200.

Bruce Rodgers, Shelley Rodgers, and Maria Garcia also won an Emmy for Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special for their work on The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show.
This Emmy win is special for the Detroit rapper, as he’s now getting closer to the iconic EGOT status, the achievement of having won all four of the major American entertainment awards. The EGOT includes Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony Award. Eminem is 15 times Grammy Award winner and won an Academy Award in 2003 for the original song “Lose Yourself” from his film “8 Mile”.
After the Emmy win, Eminem now just needs a Tony Award to complete the EGOT. “One T to go…” wrote his manager Paul Rosenberg.
