Drake fires shots at Joe Budden for trashing his album.
Drake goes all in on Joe Budden after the former rapper criticised the Toronto artist’s new album “For All The Dogs“.
During the recent episode of his Joe Budden podcast, the rapper turned podcaster criticized Drizzy for rapping for children, and asked him to hang with his own age. “He rappin’ for the children. Yo dog, I had to look up how old this ni–a was when I finished listening to the album,” he said. “You are 36 [years old]. Your birthday is in 20 days. I Googled that, too. You’re going to be 37 years old. Get the f–k away from some of these younger ni–as.” “I want to hear adult Drake rapping for adult people. He’s rapping for the kids, the streams, the accolades. He ain’t trying to rap for me. I can accept that.”
He continued, “I miss the Drake that was rapping for the rappers. I miss the Drake that when he dropped, the rappers hit him. Not these little f–kin’ kids.” “I don’t give a f–k about you and Kai Cenat, [I know] that’s gon’ sound like hate. Go find some ni–as your f–kin’ age. Hang out with them. Get some of that sauce. F–k these kids.”

Following the criticism, Drake fired shots at Budden under DJ Akademiks’ post. “@joebudden you have failed at music,” Drake wrote. “You left it behind to do what you are doing in this clip cause this is what actually pays your bills. For any artist watching this just remember you are watching a failure give their opinion on his idea of a recipe for success…a quitter give their opinion on how to achieve longevity…you switched careers cause the things that pop into your brain had you broke living cheque to cheque and the raps you write had 450 men showing up to your shows in dusty Enyce jeans to screw up their face to Mood Muzik 29 and pretend you are the goat.”
He continued, “pls to any artist that’s doing what they feel is right don’t let these opinions affect your mindset after the fact…this guy is the poster child of frustration and surrendering. You retired and we never hung up your jersey we don’t even remember your number. We know you for doing this…you withdrew from rap not cause you accomplished all you need to it’s cause it wasn’t working for you. I never want anybody in the generations to think that the whole “everybody’s entitled to their opinion” is a real thing…this is a man projecting his own self hate and the fact I did and continue to do everything he wanted to do for himself. If you need it put in simpler terms I own a 767…he owns a modest house in the 973 and flies first class on special occasions.”
“@champagnepapi you’ll grow up sooner or later,” Joe Budden responded in the comments. “Father time is undefeated.”

Following the comments by Drake, Budden revealed that the Toronto rapper sent him a 55-second voice note through DM. “Take a chill pill, Anthony. Have a drink. Throw on some instrumentals,” Budden said. “Maybe write one of those, ‘Fellas, do your thing, lemme do my thing’ joints for old time’s sake. A little radio play would do you some good, papa.”
“Y’all are right,” he added. “I do get up here and talk a whole lot of sh-t. Some of it is not the friendliest to you artists… but be clear, to the kids that are confused out there, when I sit on this couch and talk, I speak from the position of one of the best rappers in the world at all times. I speak like that’s what I was, I speak like that’s what I am, I speak like that’s how I will always be. It’s well-documented what I do. I feel this way and speak this way because all of the best rappers in the world have told me to my face.”
