Drake, NBA YoungBoy are the top streaming artists in 2022

Eminem is in the top 10 without any fresh release

Drake and NBA YoungBoy have so far been the most streamed artists in 2022, with Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, and Eminem rounding out the top ten.

Drake may be on vacation, but his music is still going strong, as he is the most-streamed musician in 2022. Hip hop’s dominance is growing as the genre evolves into a more flexible genre with sub-genres that sound radically different from one another. Hip-hop has practically eclipsed pop as the most popular and desirable music in the United States, and it appears that this trend will continue in the near future.

Drake is the most-streamed according to Chart Data, with 1.4 billion streams, followed by NBA YoungBoy with 1.3 billion. Youngboy’s position is startling since he moves past musicians that were previously thought untouchable, such as Taylor Swift, who came in at No. 3 with 1.2 billion, and The Weekend, who came in at No. 4 with 1.1 billion.

With Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, NBA YoungBoy’s Sincerely, Kentrell, and Juice WRLD’s Fighting Demons, all three of these musicians will release solo albums in the second half of 2021. CLB received over 430 million audio streams in just three days, beating Kanye’s Donda, which received 423 million in eight days.

The album shattered both Apple Music and Spotify’s single-day sales records and spent many weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 list. Drake’s period continues with his receipt of the Billboard Artist of the Decade Award, which he received last year.

Kanye West dropped Donda in the second half of 2022, is No. 6 in the 5-10 position with 840 million streams. Eminem ranks seventh with 710 million streams, while Kodak Black and Rod Wave rank eighth and ninth, respectively, with 660 million streams.
