In April, Drake was the special guest at J. Cole’s Dreamville Fest 2023, where the duo gave each other flowers. “J. Cole, if you can tell, Raleigh North Carolina and myself, we love you brother,” said Drake.
“Yo, let me just say this on stage. This man right here bro, I’m such a fan, and I feel like I am speaking for all of us when I say this bro, we are f**kin wowed, amazed, blown away by your greatness bro,” responded Cole. “It gives a ni**a chills. To see you do this sh*t at the highest level, non stop and constantly serve us and bless us with soundtrack of our lives bro. I am f**king blown away by your greatness bro. Y’all make some noise for Drizzy f**king Drake.”
At the stage, Drake also pleads with Cole to feature his on his next album. “Maybe I could get on the album?” Drake asked, to which Cole says “Ni–a.” “Can I get on the album? I’ma ask in front of Montreal. ‘J. Cole, can we get on your album?’” continued Drizzy. “Say less, goddammit!” responds Cole.
“Montreal, I want you to understand something,” said Drake. “It takes somebody that really not only loves the art of this shi*t, but really loves all of you to get on a plane, come here for two nights and represent for Montreal. So make some muthaf**king noise for my brother, all the way from the ‘Ville, he goes by the name of Jermaine Cole. I need you to get as loud as you can.”
