Charlamagne Says Young Thug & Future Can Shred Eminem In A Verzuz

Charlamagne Tha God addresses his comments on Eminem gets washed in Verzuz with 6ix9ine.

A few days ago, a clip of The Brilliant Idiots with Andrew Schultz went viral which featured Charlamagne Tha God. In the podcast, they talked about Verzuz battles, and Charlamagne said that Eminem would get washed by today’s generation rappers, including 6ix9ine. “Eminem gets washed in any Verzuz bro. Any Verzuz,” he said. “Em don’t have songs like that. Em can rap and we like Eminem as a rapper. Future washes Eminem in Verzuz. 6ixN9ne would wash him too, depending on the generation. Em, don’t got nothing that slaps like GUMMO to these kids. Young Thug washes Eminem in a Verzuz.

Now Charlamagne Tha God appeared on his The Breakfast Club show, where DJ Envy asked about his comments, for which he was trending all over social media. “I said What I said…No, I am lying,” he says.

You’re saying Eminem, multi-platinum artist, sells diamond, has multi records, you think he would get washed by 6ix9ine in a Verzuz,” asks DJ Envy.

Wait a minute, I did not say that,” he said. “First of all, that episode of The Brilliant Idiots is old, that was either late last year or early this year. Why is this even a conversation now, who’s paying for this campaign to go viral? But let’s discuss, number 1, I was trolling my co-host Andrew Schultz, a white man who grew up loving Eminem. Why y’all taking this conversation seriously. It’s the Brilliant Idiots podcast, the home of absurd conversations that sounds smart. Just think about the context of the conversation. I said anybody could beat Eminem in a Verzuz, that right there should let you know I was just f**king around. And why would Eminem and 6ix9ine be doing a Verzuz, it’s clearly not a serious convo. But, I do think to a lot of these kids, a record like “GUMMO” means way more to them than anything in Em’s catalog. Because they don’t know Eminem’s catalog.

Eminem, according to Charlamagne, is a terrific lyricist and rapper like Kendrick Lamar, but he lacks the club-centric tunes that fans would naturally gravitate toward in a fight format.

Now when it comes to Young Thug & Future, I do believe based on which generation is judging, Future and Thug, 20 for 20, song for song, nothing else, right now with this generation, yeah they probably would take Eminem Verzuz. But once again, why the hell Eminem be doing Verzuz against Future and Young Thug. It’s not even a real match-up. And the headline is just clickbait, I never said 6ix9ine would beat Eminem. I did say that about Thug and Future. And by the way that’s not taking anything from Eminem. Eminem is a whole legend, Grade A top-tier lyricist.

Then he reminds of Eminem dissing him on “The Ringer” off Kamikaze album and said, “Em’s right, salute to Eminem. I will find a way to hate on Eminem in some way, If you call this absurd conversation a sad tier hate or whatever.

In the wake of The LOX’s masterful Verzuz versus Dipset at Madison Square Garden last week, the tape has emerged. Many looked up to the group as a gold standard for how fights should be conducted because of their camaraderie, outstanding discography, and ability to reproduce it live.

This isn’t the first time Charlamagne has said something provocative about the rapper on his programme. He earlier called Eminem’s Revival album from 2017 “crap.” “Charlamagne gonna to hate anyway/ Doesn’t matter what I say/Give me Donkey of the Day,” Eminem rapped on “Ringer,” a single from his follow-up album, Kamikaze, in response to the remark.

While discussing Verzuz, Charlamagne came to the conclusion that no one, not even Eminem, would be able to beat Britney Spears as an artist.

The video has reappeared following The LOX’s outstanding performance at Madison Square Garden last week during their Verzuz vs Dipset. Many people looked to the group as a gold standard for how fights should be done because of their camaraderie, along with their outstanding discography and ability to replicate it live.

The conversation with Charlamagne proceeded on the subject of Verzuz, and they came to the conclusion that Britney Spears would be difficult to beat, even for Eminem.
