Check out some of the best Grammy Awards performances.
Some of the most unforgettable moments in American pop music have occurred during the annual Grammy Awards show. The Grammys offer a stage for spectacle—and medleys—from tributes and memorials to duets and one-night-only supergroups to whatever Lady Gaga is wearing. The Grammy Awards will be televised live on CBS at 5 p.m. Pacific from the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas. On Paramount+, the ceremony will also be streamed live and on-demand.
The exhibition was originally set for January 31 in Los Angeles, but it was postponed and then relocated to Las Vegas due to worries over the COVID-19 Omicron version. That’s also why it’s held following the Academy Awards this year.
Trevor Noah, host of “The Daily Show,” will emcee the event for the second year in a row, although he hasn’t said how things could go differently this time. Noah has been rather silent on social media in the lead-up to the Grammys, and his late-night program has been off the air for the whole week since the Grammy slap. However, the comedian reappeared on Twitter on Wednesday to chastise CBS for criticizing his singing.
Dear @cbs …
1. Thank you! 🙏🏾
2. How dare you!? 😤
3. Just showing that I can count higher than you. 😜
4. Only 4 more days! 🙌🏾🎉 #GRAMMYs https://t.co/gxnxD9mTfP— Trevor Noah (@Trevornoah) March 31, 2022
Take a peek at who will be performing at this year’s Grammy Awards!
Kanye West isn’t one of them. Not to mention the Foo Fighters. Ye, a 22-time Grammy winner, was removed off the performance schedule in March due to his “concerning online conduct,” which came from comments he made against his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, her boyfriend, Pete Davidson, and even Grammys presenter Noah.
Batiste, Brothers Osbourne, BTS, Brandi Carlile, Eilish, H.E.R., J Balvin with Maria Becerra, Lady Gaga, Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow, John Legend, Nas, Silk Sonic, Chris Stapleton, Rodrigo, and Carrie Underwood have been chosen to perform by the Recording Academy.
Kanye West Reportedly Removed From Grammys Performers Line-Up Over “Online Behavior”
The Grammy Awards have always been known for their spectacular attire, breathtaking unscripted events, and, of course, fantastic performances by some of the world’s finest performers. The Grammys have had no lack of memorable moments, from Michael Jackson’s famous Moonwalk to Lady Gaga’s poignant David Bowie homage to surprise duets from Elton John and Eminem. After all, it’s called Music’s Biggest Night for a reason!
Let’s face it: the Grammys aren’t really about awards—at least not for us, the audience. We check in every year to see what everyone is wearing and how well each musician is doing. And every year, at least one performer lifts the standard, bringing the audience to its feet and ripping the auditorium’s roof off.
When Elton John Faced Backlash For Supporting Eminem At Grammys
It would be difficult to cover all of the performances over the past 60 years in one article, but we may focus on a few that have been deemed or recognised to be among the finest. These performances weren’t only noteworthy; they also had a long-lasting effect, as evidenced by the fact that people continue to recall them years or even decades after they took place. These performances could have even helped the musician advance in their profession or marked a pivotal period in their life. So let’s go back in time and look at these timeless treasures.
But first, let’s take a look back at some of the most memorable Grammy performances. We’ve narrowed it down and compiled a list of the greatest among them. Remember to keep an eye on Paste (on the site and on Twitter) on Sunday night as we cover the Grammy Awards from start to finish.
