50 Cent wanted Tony Yayo to be blown up instead of him.
50 Cent was the recent guest on Big Boy’s Neighborhood, where he talked about Tony Yayo and revealed that he wishes his G-Unit signee would’ve took off instead of him.
“My solo album took off so big that I just brought them with me,” he said. “So it was clear that it was me creating opportunity for everybody else in the crew, but we was all together. I wish it would have been Yayo, because then I coulda did all of the business. If he woulda did what 50 Cent did, then I would have been running the whole thing.”
“It would still be two of us. He’d still be 50 cent as the artist and I’d be the largest asset to us,” he added.

Just recently, Yayo praised Fifty and stated that he treats his artists better than Jay-Z. “That’s why I respect him because we have more of an assist,” he said. “We have 50 Cent so I knew I was okay. He sold 11 million records I’m gonna get a percentage of his fans. I’m good. He had the kind of more do it on his own. He had deals with JAY-Z and them but JAY-Z ain’t gonna never… I always tell them all the time JAY-Z ain’t treating you like this ni**a.”
During an interview on the Only Way Out Podcast, Yayo shared his thoughts about the passing of Pop Smoke and the RICO case involving 6ix9ine. He credited his ability to avoid similar dangerous situations in his career to valuable advice he received from 50 Cent when he was starting out as a rapper. “There used to be 14 guns on the bus like Bobby Shmurda and them ni–as, we used to be running around like that,” Yayo said around the 28-minute mark. “You gotta kinda be smart, you have a n-gga like Fif around that help us survive a lot of shit. ‘Cause he’ll be like, ‘Yo, if you gotta bring a gun, why the f**k you going? Just go party in my mansion I’m not even there. Just take over my mansion.”
