50 Cent Celebrates In Da Club One Billion Streams On Spotify

50 Cent gives advice on how to make a classic.

50 Cent took to his social media to celebrate 1 Billion Spotify streams of his classic “In Da Club”, for which he received a plaque from the music streaming platform. Last year, the song became the rapper’s first song to hit the 1 billion mark on Spotify.

“Take your time make it a classic then it won’t go away. #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi,” 50 wrote with the Spotify plaque.

The song was released in 2003 as part of his debut studio album “Get Rich or Die Tryin” as the lead single and peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.

The song is regarded as the best track by the rapper, and it was nominated for Best Male Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Song at the 46th Grammy Awards. The rapper won Best Rap Video and Best New Artist at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.

It came in at number 13 on Rolling Stone’s list of the “Best Songs of the Decade.” On Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in 2010, it was ranked number 448.

“You ain’t gonna believe this one but 18 years ago today I dropped a song I recorded in LA and it’s still spinning 1,000 times a week at radio. I tell @eminem I love him for what he did for me, he put me on.” wrote Fiddy previously on the 18th anniversary of the song.
