21 Savage Says He Would Smoke Kodak Black In A Verzuz Battle

21 Savage talks about a possible Verzuz battle.

21 Savage is in the headlines for his new collab album “Her Loss” with Drake, which is projected to top Billboard 200 with over 400k sales in the first week. The rapper made an appearance on twitch streamer Kai Cenat’s live stream, where he was asked about a recent statement of beating everyone in his 2016 Freshman Class lineup.

“You talked about beating everybody on the 2016 Freshman [Class]. Those people includes Lil Uzi Vert, [Lil] Yachty, who else on there?” asks Cenat. “Jesus Christ, Mohamad Ali, Michael Jackson,” jokes Savage. “No, I don’t think you can beat Michael Jackson in a Verzuz though. MJ the Goat. I think a good match up though would be you and Uzi. You think you can win?” asks Kai. “Yeah, it depends on the crowd, Uzi got a lot of cough,” responds Savage.

“They talking about Kodak [Black],” he was asked. “I’m smoking Kodak,” responds 21. “Kodak got a lot of heat. It just depend how I play it, how I go though. They be acting like I ain’t got that sh*t. That’s what be the problem. I don’t know what ni**as be thinkin, before all that Drake [Her Loss] sh*t, I been having hits. Been having Diamond songs and sh*t. Only ni**a of this generation to go platinum with no features. They be talking that Savage is a feature artist, no Savage went platinum without all the features. Issa album went platinum with no features.”

The 2016 Freshman was one of the best lineups in XXL history, as the list included rappers like Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, Kodak Black, Denzel Curry, G Herbo, Dave East, Desiigner, Anderson .Paak and Lil Dicky.

After the recent statement from Savage, Kodak Black responded on IG live. “I admire your confidence though,” he said. “That’s how you should feel. You know I’m always going to put myself first though, over any ni**a, any day. But, that’s cap.”

Naturally, a lot of opponents are attributing 21’s confidence to the fact that 16 new Drake collaborations have been added to the 20 tracks he might have chosen for a Verzuz showdown. However, 21 took a moment to remind viewers of his non-Drizzy choices during his Twitch stream with Kai Cenat. “Before all this Drake sh*t, I’ve been having hits, been having diamond songs,” the London-born rapper said. “I’m probably the only ni**a of this generation to go platinum with no features. They always talking about, ‘Oh, Savage a feature artist.’ No, Savage went platinum with no features. My first album, Issa Album, went platinum with no features.”
