Lil Wayne shares “Tha Carter VI” details in new interview.
Lil Wayne is all set to drop his long-awaited new album “Tha Carter VI” on June 6, and now the rapper shares new details about the project. The rapper sat down with Rolling Stone’s Andre Gee for a new cover story interview.
In the conversation, the rapper reveals the album will feature appearances from Machine Gun Kelly, Miley Cyrus, Kanye West, Wheezy, Wyclef Jean, Elephant Man, his son Kameron Carter and more. The platform states that “Wayne recorded a track featuring an uncleared Billie Eilish sample.”
“If there’s one thing about this album that’s different, it’s me approaching it like, ‘Man, what would I sound like on something with such and such?’” said Wayne.
Wyclef Jean also shares experience on working on the project. “Leaving Wyclef Jean and Lil Wayne in a studio for 24 hours is a dangerous thing,” he told Rolling Stone. “You don’t know what’s going to pop out.”
“You going to probably do like eight songs [with Wyclef] because he’s going to keep flipping what you did on one [song] and make a whole [new] song out of that sh-t,” added Wayne.
In another part of the interview, Lil Wayne said it’s all well between him and Kendrick Lamar following the Super Bowl controversy. “Wayne tells me things are fine between him and Lamar; Wayne called the L.A. rapper ahead of the Super Bowl to clear the air and to encourage him,” the report states.
However, Wayne said he’s no longer interested in performing at the Super Bowl. “They stole that feeling. I don’t want to do it,” Lil Wayne revealed. “It was perfect.”
