Fat Joe Says DaBaby is the 2021 Version of Tupac

Fat Joe compares DaBaby to Tupac Shakur.

Fat Joe, who was credited for ending beef between Eminem and Nick Cannon, is now catching some heat on social media for his 2Pac comparison. A clip of Fat Joe surfaces of his appearance at the BET Rap City show, which took place before the 2021 BET Hip-Hop Awards last week. On the show, Big Tigger asked the Bronx rapper, to name a rapper who can be called as 2021 version of the legendary Tupac.

While admitting that it is hard to name anyone, he went on to call the controversial DaBaby the Tupac of 2021. “I should know the Tupac one,” Fat Joe said. “I don’t know, it’s hard to be these guys. You be asking some crazy stuff. I would say DaBaby.

DaBaby himself shared the clip on his Instagram, and wrote, “Agreed, But they gone salt that down too Crack,” with a quiet emoji. He also reposted the clip on his IG story and wrote, “They gone make n*ggas slam they iPhone on the phone @fatjoe. [Laughing Emoji]

Recently, DaBaby hasn’t been the most popular rapper. He’s still dealing with the backlash from his homophobic statements from the summer. The reaction hasn’t hindered DaBaby’s career, as he just recorded “Lonely,” a new song featuring Lil Wayne in which he references to the criticism he’s received. After a series of freestyles this summer, including his “Essence” freestyle, in which he claimed that individuals were attempting to assassinate his persona, the tune marks his first formal release.

In his most recent special, The Closer, Dave Chappelle utilised his “cancelling” as a cornerstone of his argument against cancel culture. Despite Chappelle’s comments and Fat Joe’s eyebrow-raising connection, the Bronx icon made it plain that DaBaby is not the “California Love” rapper, despite the fact that he brought up the ‘Pac topic. “Is he Tupac Shakur?,” Joe asked bluntly. “No. No one will ever be Tupac Shakur.”

Although he maintained his position on Rap City ’21, Joe did take into consideration some of the IG Live comments from fans who suggested that their favourite rappers serve as the contemporary Shakur. He provided some light entertainment for YoungBoy Never Broke Again by declaring NBA produces “great music.”

Joe immediately reacted, “J. Cole is 2Pac?” when someone mentioned J. Cole. Then he whistled three times, each time quite sharply.

Check out some of the reactions below, including KXNG Crooked, who wrote, “OG got Pac f**ked ALL THE WAY UP.
