Cordae shares his view on Usher vs Chris Brown Verzuz.
Cordae is on the promo run for his new album “From A Bird’s Eye View” which was released last night. Cordae made a visit to The Breakfast Club for an interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy. On the show, Charlamagne told Cordae about Jaheim recently challenging Usher for A Verzuz.
“Oh for real? he challenged Usher?” says a shocked Cordae. “Jaheim don’t want no smoke with Usher. Nah bro that’s wild. Man, I love his confidence, I love Jaheim, shout out Jaheim, but that’s wild.”
The North Carolina rapper was then asked to choose between Usher and Chris Brown. “I don’t know to be honest. And I’m not trying to be politically correct, like, f**k all that. I really don’t know. We gotta sit here and look at the magnitude of the catalogs and I wasn’t around… but the thing is, like, I was born…I’m only twenty-four. I was four years old when “8701” [Usher’s Album] came out. When “My Way” came out, I wasn’t alive for all of these things. I was like, eight years old when “Confessions” came out.”
He continues, “They’re both icons in their own right. I am a huge Usher fan and I am a huge Chris Brown fan. I love Breezy’s catalog. I think like he’s extremely underrated. He’s like a real icon man. So I would love to see that, I would buy ticket to see that.”
Ultimately, Cordae is here for a Chris Brown and Usher Verzuz. “I would love to see that, I would buy tickets to see that for sure, especially if they’re live-performing,” he said. “They might could do a stadium together.”
