In his recent interview with The Breakfast Club, 50 Cent shared the story.
50 Cent is still regarded as one of the most important rappers in hip-hop history. However, 50 has had multiple disagreements with Jay-Z in the past. He recently disclosed that Beyonce confronted him about it.
During an appearance with The Breakfast Club on Friday (August 12), 50 recounted Queen Bey approaching him in Vegas when he was welcoming Hov because she mistook him for her then-boyfriend.
50 said Beyonce leaped from a ledge and was “ready” to fight him, acknowledging the incident took him off guard. It is unknown whether the incident occurred.
“She was on, like, a window sill. We was in Vegas,” he remembered. “She jumped out, she was like [pulls confrontational face]. And I’m like, ‘Wait, what is you doing? That’s me and JAY-Z’s stuff, this ain’t got nothing to do with you, girl.’
“She jumped off the ledge. I was like, ‘Oh, sh*t!’ I didn’t really know what to do. It was one of those situations where you were like, ‘Woah!’ If you say this to Jay, he’ll look at you and go, ‘Nah, that happened.'”
He continued: “She came like she was ready! Like something was gonna happen! And I’m like, ‘Woah, woah, woah.’ She throwing me off now ’cause I don’t know exactly how to respond to this. You are still Beyonce. She brought all of the sexy over with that energy jumping off.
“I look at Jay and he go [laughs]. Nah, he’ll tell you … I said, ‘Yo, alright. Whatever.’ ‘Cause really I’m just saying what’s up. But she’s feeling my energy come over because we do say things about each other — it’s a competitive nature, that’s it!”
Additionally, 50 made light of Solange’s notorious 2014 assault on JAY-Z in an elevator, saying: “If Solange was there, I would’ve had to reboot! Solange was popping in that elevator like it was nothing. With some gangsta shit going on. Jay couldn’t do nothing, huh?”
Contrary to other beefs with Ja Rule, The Game, and Rick Ross, 50 Cent’s feud with JAY-Z hardly grew into a full-fledged feud, but tensions between both the New York heavyweights persisted throughout the 2000s as they dominated the mainstream.
In response to 50’s 1999 song “How to Rob,” in which he threatened Hov, Jay-Z subtly responded on “It’s Hot (Some Like It Hot),” rapping, “Go against Jigga? Your a*s is dense/I’m about a dollar; what the fuck is 50 cents?”
The battle heated up once the G-Unit general rose to global success with records like Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and The Massacre, even overthrowing JAY-Z on Forbes’ Hip Hop Cash Kings list in 2008.
Since then, 50 Cent and JAY-Z have buried the hatchet, and 50 confirmed in an interview with the Breakfast Club that everything is good between them.
