Lupe Fiasco shares new song “Drill Music In Zion”.
Following the release of “Autoboto” last month, Lupe Fiasco is back with more new material as he drops new single called “Drill Music In Zion”. The song is produced by Soundtrakk & Lupe himself, and it is the title track off his upcoming new album, which is set to drop next week on June 24th.
“The August symphonic, power of ablonic / To heal still, medical bill trill harmonics / Silver sonets from the Bonyuesian bonets / I leave a whole sleeve down in Condolese’s comments,” he raps.
In other news, the Chicago rapper recently announced that he will be teaching rap at the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). “I been holding this for a while. I’ll put together something more sophisticated later that really captures the nuance and gravity but for now I’ll just say it straight and raw: I’m going to teach Rap at @MIT,” he wrote.
Many Hip Hop scholars feel Lupe Fiasco debuted with two outstanding albums in a row. Food & Liquor premiered to widespread acclaim in 2006. A year later, The Cool was released.
Food & Liquor and The Cool were both nominated for Grammys for Best Rap Album. The Recording Academy nominated Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1 for Best Rap Album in 2013.
