Lizzo enlists SZA for the “Special” remix.
Following her Record Of The Year at the 65th annual Grammy awards, Lizzo is back with some new music. The Detroit native enlist SZA for a new version of her single “Special”, which appeared on her most recent album.
“Woke up this mornin’ to somebody judgin’ me / No surprise they judgin’ me, don’t know who I’m ‘posed to be / I’m just actin’ up, I’m crass as f**k, and never saying sorry / Found out in the end that I can only do it for me,” sings SZA.
“Special” is the title track from Lizzo’s latest album, which was released last summer. The singer first introduced the song during her appearance as both host and musical guest on “Saturday Night Live”. Months later, Lizzo returned to the show as a musical guest after Yeah Yeah Yeahs had to cancel their performance due to health reasons. At the Grammy Awards, Lizzo gave a powerful performance of both “Special” and “About Damn Time”.
