Listen to Jay-Z, Jadakiss & Conway The Machine’s new song “King Kong Riddim”.
After teasing it earlier this week with a trailer, Jay-Z, Jadakiss and Conway The Machine have joined forces for a brand new collaboration called “King Kong Riddim“. The song also features assistance from BackRoad Gee. The track is off the soundtrack of Netflix’ new movie “The Harder They Fall” it got fans thrilled because it was the first time ‘Kiss and Hov had collaborated on a song in a long time. BackRoad Gee, a grime-drill rapper from London, also appears on the offbeat tune.
Netflix’s “The Harder They Fall” is a western all-black film, which stars Idris Elba, Jonathan, Zazie Beetz, Lakeith Stanfield, and more. The soundtrack to the film features production from Jay-Z himself, along with James Lassiter.
The Harder They Fall is a fictitious revenge thriller that follows Nat Love (Jonathan Majors), a Robin Hood-like criminal, as he pursues vengeance on the deviant golden pistol-carrying Rufus Buck (Idris Elba).
As for JAY-Z, his verse hearkens back to the concrete jungles of his youth. He raps, “Jungle, I move a bundle, a hundo at my peak/ My cocaine records stand up next to Meech.”
Jeymes Samuel, the director of the film recently talked about Jay-Z in a new interview with GQ. “Me and Hov are always cooking music. But most of the stuff we go back and forth on is film,” he said. “And it has always been that way. We have big debates over Scarface. I go, ‘wasn’t the nicest guy.’ But Jay-Z and James Lassiter will break it down like ‘Jeymes, he was cool. He told guys, no women, no kids.’ Jay is the proper cinephile. [raps the first line to Jay-Z’s ‘Heart of the City’] ‘First the Fat Boys break up, now everyday I wake up…’ That comes from Boomerang, Chris Rock in the mailroom. It’s a thing that has run through his entire career, film.”
Jay-Z also teamed up with Kid Cudi for another joint called “Guns Go Bang“.
