Doja Cat shares her new album “Scarlet”.
Doja Cat continues putting out new music as she finally drops her brand new album “Scarlet”. This is her fourth studio album, and a follow-up to 2021’s “Planet Her”.
As announced, the project comes with a pack of 17 tracks, with no guest appearances. The album is laced with previously released songs “Balut“, “Demons“, “Attention” and “Paint The Town Red“. The other solo offerings include “F–k the Girls (FTG)”, “Ouchies”, “Go Off”, “Agora Hills”, “Love Life”, “Skull And Bones” and more.
Paint The Town Red peaked at number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming the first rap of the year to achieve this milestone. It was Doja’s first solo #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, and second overall after “Say So (Remix)” with Nicki Minaj.
Doja Cat released her previous album “Planet Her” in 2021, which peaked at #2 on Billboard 200. Planet Her featured guest appearances from The Weeknd, Young Thug, Ariana Grande, JID and SIZA, with a deluxe edition featuring Eve and Gunna. The album was nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. The project sold 1.5 million units in 2021 and was ranked the biggest R&B album of the year and sixth best-selling overall.
Scarlet is projected to debut in the Billboard 200 top 10 with low album sales. The project is expected to move around 50-55k equivalent album units in the first week. The projections are a 50% decline from Doja’s previous album sales.
